Juvenile offenders should not be tried as adults and should not be held in prisons. They should not be incarcerated in jails or prisons with adults. These pose great risks and can subject them to sexual abuse and violence. They can also become hardened. Rehabilitation and reformation should be the goal. Juvenile detention/remand facilities have the programmes that can aid their process of reformation and rehabilitation. These can turn their lives around and help them become useful members of the society. Lagos State. Ministry of Youth, Sports and Social Development
